Will there be a Mr Selfridge series 4 in 2016?
It was officially confirmed by ITV on March 13, 2015 that Mr Selfridge season 4 had indeed been commissioned. The UK premiere date for the new series is expected to be set for January 2016, with the show likely returning to the US on PBS Masterpiece around late March, 2016.
With Mr Selfridge continuing to enjoy great success both sides of the Atlantic, viewers are now guaranteed at least one more full season from this popular ITV Studios production. In fact, the show has to date been sold for broadcast in over 150 countries around the world.
Fans of the British period-drama will be pleased to hear that lead actor Jeremy Piven will be reprising his role as the shows title character Harry Selfridge.
Other key cast members already confirmed for the fourth series are Katherine Kelly, who plays the seductive socialite Lady Mae Loxley, Ron Cook as Mr Crabb, Amy Beth Hayes as Kitty, Tom Goodman-Hill as Mr Grove, Amanda Abbington as Miss Mardle, Trystan Gravelle as Victor, Samuel West as Frank Edwards and Sacha Parkinson as Connie Hawkins.
The hit series is inspired by events in the life of the charismatic American-born retail magnate Harry Gordon Selfridge. The plot of season 4 in 2016 will revolve around the entrepreneurs financial decline as he begins to lose grip of the business empire and social standing he worked so long and hard to build.
So does this storyline mean Mr Selfridge will finish and not be renewed at the end of series 4? I guess we’ll just have to tune in and find out.
One thing we do know for sure though: When the show returns in 2016, the fourth season of Mr Selfridge will air over 10 episodes, as has been the case for all three previous series.
The very first episode of Mr Selfridge originally premiered in the UK on ITV on January 6 2013 and in the US on PBS Masterpiece on March 30 of the same year.
